Koji Shinohara, a pioneer of Japanese hand-made watches and a watchmaker who works on the watch brand KS.

Incorporating the worldview of steampunk into watches, he created the "Lost Future" series, which makes the watch itself look like a machine that is about to start moving, and the "Wadokei" series, which is suitable for everyday use and Japanese clothing. Based on the concept of "tradition and novelty, a fusion of contradictory concepts", he produces a wide variety of handcrafted watches.

In 1997, JHA (Japan Handcraft-Watch Association) was established to support artists' activities such as learning watchmaking techniques and supplying parts. Even now, while producing his own works, he is also working hard to nurture the next generation. Young people who aspire to become watchmakers love him as a master, and he is active in the development of the world of handcrafted watches.
