Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started because he likes making things, he likes clothes, and he likes making things from scratch with his own hands. Mr. and Mrs. Tatsuya Nakanishi and Mrs. Yoko Nakanishi consistently handle the design, pattern, sewing, and dyeing.
One of Garage's characteristics of making clothes is the biased use of double gauze fabric. Normally, fabrics for clothes are used according to the length and width of the weave, but by using bias, elasticity is created in the length and breadth. The use of bias is not very efficient (a lot of fabric is lost), so it is not often used, but by doing this, the double gauze becomes an even more comfortable material.
In addition, we make full use of the characteristics and texture of double gauze, such as processing the neck and other parts to keep it fluffy. Since the dyeing is also done by themselves, it is also attractive that there are a lot of color variations. In the simple design, there is a lot of ingenuity that can be done because it is handmade.
Garage's gauze clothes, which are filled with the idea of "making things with our own hands, we do as much as possible", make the wearer feel gentle and calm.
