Kobo Oriza, a studio that creates highly original stoles and scarves using traditional looms, is located deep in the mountains of Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture—a place blessed with nature, lush greenery, and a slow, relaxing pace of life.

The vintage looms at Kobo Oriza are the driving force behind the creation of comfortable fashion pieces loved by people of all ages.

Among their creations, the "Yuragi-ori" (wavy weave) scarf, with its unique, soft undulating design, is particularly rare. This weaving technique was awarded the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" at the 3rd Manufacturing Nippon Grand Awards.

Items created through age-old techniques are finding their place in modern fashion. Just as threads intertwine, so do people and traditions... the products created by Kobo Oriza seem to serve as a bridge connecting the present to the past.

This stole is woven on a "Toyota Y-type" loom manufactured approximately 110 years ago.
Rather than using the looms as they were, they have been modified with every imaginable part to transform them into "new looms" capable of weaving the original "tate-yoroke mojiri-ori" technique.

<Care Instructions>
・Please hand wash gently in cold or lukewarm water using a neutral detergent. Do not use the hand-wash mode on a washing machine.
・After hand washing, gently remove moisture with a towel, hang it over a pole in a well-ventilated, shaded area, and reshape it while hanging to dry.
・Do not use optical brighteners, chlorine-based bleach, or a tumble dryer.
・Fabric softeners may cause lint shedding. Please avoid using them as much as possible.
