garage is a Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop that started with a passion for craftsmanship, fashion, and creating things from scratch. Husband and wife team Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi handle everything from design, pattern making, and sewing to dyeing.

One of the distinctive features of garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally). While fabric for clothing is typically cut along the warp and weft, cutting on the bias gives the fabric elasticity in both directions.

Within their simple designs, garage incorporates ingenious techniques that fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

Garage's gauze clothing, imbued with their philosophy of "doing as much as we can with our own hands," brings a gentle and peaceful feeling to those who wear it.

A characteristic of garage's gauze clothing is that it uses single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

While bias cutting is not efficient in terms of fabric usage, it creates excellent elasticity in both the warp and weft directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.

You can choose from a wide range of colors. We recommend selecting colors according to the season, such as pastel shades for spring and earth tones for autumn.
