garage is a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto that started because the owners love making things, love clothes, and love creating things from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband-and-wife team, handle everything from design, pattern making, and sewing to dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Typically, fabric for clothing is used along the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates stretch in both directions. This incorporates ingenuity that fully utilizes the characteristics and texture of double gauze within a simple design.

The gauze clothing from garage, brimming with the philosophy of "doing as much as we can with our own hands," brings a gentle and peaceful feeling to those who wear it.

The subtle fringe around the neck is a key point.

This is a simple seven-quarter sleeve T-shirt made from double-layered gauze.

The naturally open round neckline features a raw-edge design, giving a stylish touch to a simple T-shirt.

The double gauze material is very comfortable to the touch, offers a soft feel when worn, and is recommended for those with sensitive skin.

Double gauze is an excellent fabric with moderate breathability and warmth, making it suitable for all seasons. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.

A distinctive feature of garage's gauze clothing is the use of this double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). While using fabric on the bias is not efficient, it creates excellent stretch in both the vertical and horizontal directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
