Established in January 2016, "waji Co., Ltd." is a professional manufacturing group comprising experienced artisans and young designers. It began when Yuki Kanno, who loves "antique doors," met Rui Sekine, who came from a "glass processing plant."

Under havito's brand concept of "unexpected craftsmanship," Kanno and Sekine created the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had long wanted to bring to life.

The lineup features items that are easy for daily use, envisioned as "portable art objects."

The realism of an antique door is expressed by combining several types of parts.

The "glart" series fuses stained-glass-style tempered glass with genuine leather. "glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art."

The number of parts and manufacturing steps are more than double compared to similar products. Even the sewing machine had to be customized just to create this series. Sewing glass and leather together requires advanced techniques, and only a select few artisans at waji can finish it.

The leather used is cowhide full-grain leather, tanned with both vegetable tannins and chrome.

Artisans carefully apply the same wax used for saddlery, one by one, to finish the product. The charm lies in the unique unevenness from handwork and the natural characteristics of leather (such as blood vessels, wrinkles, and moles), giving it a distinct firmness. Of course, the leather also ages beautifully over time.

The glass was co-developed with "Tomi Glass," a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is lightweight and durable tempered glass, taking two years to develop. The glass used undergoes special processing at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring safety and strength.

On the left side, there are three card pockets where you can store business cards, shop cards, and even thicker cards.
There are free pockets on both sides, so you can also store postcards and memos.

Since the inner refills can be removed and reused each year, you'll grow fond of the cover and can continue using it for many years.

The "Bible size," which is neither too big nor too small, offers ease of writing and visibility, making it easy to use and recommended even for beginners of binder-type planners.
