By the way, "Poussette" means "baby stroller" in French. The Kamo River flows in front of Poussette's atelier in Kamigamo, Kyoto, and Kamigamo Shrine, a World Heritage Site, is nearby. Ogawa of Pussetto creates "Gamaguchi" (clasps) that are highly convenient for use as wallets or small item holders, based on the theme of "Can we fuse the Japanese traditions, wisdom and ingenuity that have been passed down until now with modern life?". Ogawa personally selects rare imported fabrics and deadstock fabrics with his unique sensibility, and handles everything from pattern making to sewing. The materials used for the purses are diverse, including cotton, linen, and wool, and come in a wide variety of patterns and colors. The fabrics are also produced in a variety of places, including Japan, America, Spain, and Poland. The outer and inner linings of the purses are different, and Ogawa carefully selects the most beautiful combinations of texture, color, and pattern from the countless combinations available. |
