Kobo Oriza creates stoles and mufflers overflowing with originality using old-fashioned weaving machines. The shop is located deep in the mountains of Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, facing the Seto Inland Sea, in a quiet location blessed with nature.
Masatoshi Takeda, the representative who leads Kobo Oriza, is an engineer who used to be the factory manager of a towel manufacturer. While the towel industry is declining year by year, Kobo Oriza's old-fashioned looms are used to create comfortable fashion products one after another.
The beautiful woven pattern is a unique design that can be used by men and women of all ages. In addition, there are a wide variety of items, such as plant-dyed stoles dyed with natural dyes and cotton caps that can be used in 8 different ways. |

This jeans stole, as the name suggests, is a stole finished using the thread used to weave jeans.
When you think of jeans, you might think of them as sturdy, but this stole is characterized by its “fluffy and soft” look. Kobo Oriza's unique technique, Mojiri weave, is used to create a rough weave that is airy and comfortable to the touch. |
 Made of 100% cotton that is gentle on the skin and has a soft and fluffy texture.  Thin and light, it seems to be useful in spring, summer and autumn.  When you put it on, it gives a different impression. It has a sense of transparency and an elegant atmosphere.  In the sweaty season, it protects the skin from UV rays and prevents the cold from air conditioning. It is an item that comes in handy just by having one.
Jeans are originally made by dyeing white threads with indigo dye. This stole also uses indigo-dyed white thread, so you can enjoy the color fading just like jeans.
The center of the thread is left white, which is called “nakashiro”, which gives the stole a faint white pattern that is unique to the stole, giving it a unique look.

 Jeans thread with rope dyeing is used.  Narrow fringe for movement.  It is roughly and coarsely woven with Mojiri weave, Breathable, stretchy and soft finish. 
The fringe is thin and delicate, with a dynamic design. It's kind of cute how each one is made so that the tips don't fall apart.
Mojiri weave is loosely and coarsely woven, so it has good breathability and elasticity, and it feels comfortable to the touch.

This is the basic weaving method, and Kobo Oriza's shawls and some mufflers are woven using this plain weave. |
