Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with a passion for craftsmanship, clothing, and creating things from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the distinctive features of Garage's clothing is the bias-cut (diagonal cut) double gauze fabric. While it's common for clothing fabric to be used along the warp and weft, bias cutting provides stretch in both directions.

Within a simple design, ingenuity is put into maximizing the unique properties and texture of double gauze.

This seven-quarter sleeve T-shirt is made of double gauze fabric that is so soft you'll want to keep touching it.

A characteristic of Garage's gauze clothing is that this single gauze fabric is cut on the bias (diagonally).

Although bias cutting is not fabric-efficient, it creates excellent stretch in both directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
