garage is a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with the idea of loving craftsmanship, loving clothes, and loving to create things from scratch with one's own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband and wife duo, handle everything from design, pattern making, and sewing to dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing is the use of double-gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates stretchiness in both directions.

Simple designs are filled with ingenuities that fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

A distinctive feature of garage's gauze clothing is the use of single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

While bias cutting is not efficient in terms of fabric usage, it creates excellent stretchiness in both length and width, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
