| Koryo-cho in Nara Prefecture is known as the "town of socks," accounting for about 40% of the socks produced in Japan. In recent years, the proportion of socks imported from overseas has been increasing in the sock industry. Feeling a sense of crisis about this situation, volunteers from textile-related companies in Koryo-cho established the brand "ORGANIC GARDEN" in 1994. As the brand name suggests, Organic Garden's items are primarily made from organic cotton. Organic cotton is cotton that is grown on land that has not been sprayed with chemical fertilizers or pesticides for over three years, and has not been subjected to any chemical processing such as bleaching or shrinkage prevention. As it does not contain chemical substances, it is gentle on the skin and feels softer than chemically treated cotton. |
