Founded in January 2016, Waji Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturing group that brings together veteran craftsmen and young designers. The company was started when the representative, Yuki Kanno, who loves "antique doors," and Rui Sekine, who used to work at a glass processing factory, met.

Based on Havito's brand concept of "unexpected manufacturing," Kanno and Sekine established the "glart" series, which is a fusion of real glass and leather - something they had always wanted to create.

The collection includes items that are easy to use on a daily basis and can be considered "portable artistic objects."

This product uses calf leather from Annonay, a long-established tannery in France founded in 1838. Annonay is a prestigious tannery that is highly trusted by luxury brands around the world who have strict standards for leather quality. Among the many leathers available, Antares was chosen as the most suitable for Glart's designs.
This leather is carefully tanned and dyed in France, and has a beautiful color and a refined luster. The natural, deep color is a finish that is unique to Annonay.

Calf leather has a moist softness and a fine grain surface that you can feel its high quality just by holding it in your hand. The more you use it, the deeper the luster will become, and the more unique the texture will become. The longer you use it, the more attractive it becomes.

There is an open/close button on the back of the doorknob. (The doorknob is just for decoration. Please place your finger on the button when opening and closing the door.)

The "glart" series combines stained-glass style reinforced glass with leather. Glart is a coined word combining glass and art.

The number of parts and the work process are twice as long as a normal wallet, and the sewing machine was even modified just to make this product. Sewing glass and leather requires advanced skills, and only Waji's limited number of craftsmen can complete it.

The glass was developed in collaboration with Tomi Glass, a long-established glass manufacturer in Tokyo's downtown area.

It took two years to develop this lightweight and durable tempered glass. The glass used is specially processed at a factory that processes car headlights, etc., to ensure its strength.

A combination of several core materials is used to express the reality of antique doors. Special reinforcement processing techniques ensure safety.
