Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with the desire to create things, to love clothes, and to build things from scratch with one's own hands. Tatsuya Nakanishi and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband and wife team, handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates elasticity in both the vertical and horizontal directions.

Simple designs are packed with ingenuity that fully utilizes the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

Garage's gauze clothing, overflowing with the desire to "do as much as possible ourselves with our own hands," gently and calmly makes the wearer feel at ease.

This is a light and warm quadruple gauze shirt, made by layering double gauze twice.

Layering gauze fabric makes it easy to trap air, providing excellent heat retention.

Garage's gauze clothing is characterized by the use of this single gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally).

Although bias cutting is not efficient in terms of fabric, it creates excellent stretch in both vertical and horizontal directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.

Garage's gauze clothing is garment-dyed (dyed after sewing) one by one. Therefore, the dye color may vary slightly between individual products.
