Garage, a Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop, started with the idea of "loving crafting, loving clothes, and loving creating things from scratch." Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, the husband and wife duo, handle everything from design, pattern making, and sewing to dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing production is the use of double-gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, fabric for clothes is used along the warp and weft, but by cutting on the bias, elasticity is created in both directions.

Simple designs incorporate ingenious ways to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

This is a henley neck shirt made from two layers of double gauze.

It has a soft, comfortable feel against the skin, allowing you to enjoy the gentle texture inherent to cotton.

Gauze is an excellent fabric with moderate breathability and heat retention, making it suitable for all seasons. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.

A feature of Garage's gauze clothing is that this single gauze fabric is cut on the bias (diagonally).

Although cutting on the bias is not efficient in terms of fabric usage, it creates excellent elasticity in both directions, and the garment gradually changes to fit the wearer's body shape over time.

Garage's gauze clothing is garment-dyed (dyed after sewing), so the dye color may vary slightly between individual products.
