Waji Inc., founded in January 2016, is a collective of professional artisans, from experienced craftsmen to young designers. The company began when Yuuki Kanno, who loves "antique doors," and Rui Sekine, who comes from a "glass processing factory," met.

Under havito's brand concept of "unexpected craftsmanship," Kanno and Sekine have established the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had long wanted to create.

The lineup includes items that are easy for daily use, designed as "portable art objects."

The "glart" series, a fusion of stained-glass-style reinforced glass and leather. "glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art."

It requires twice the number of parts and production steps compared to a regular wallet, and sewing machines were even modified specifically for this product. Highly advanced techniques are needed to sew glass and leather together, and only a limited number of Waji's artisans can complete the finish.

The leather used is vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned cowhide.

Waxes used for harness making are carefully applied by artisans, one by one. The unevenness from handwork and the natural characteristics of leather (such as blood vessels, wrinkles, and moles) are charming, giving it a unique firmness. Of course, the leather also ages beautifully over time.

The glass was co-developed with Tomigarasu, a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is lightweight and durable reinforced glass, and its development took two years. The glass used undergoes special processing at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring its strength.

Combining several types of core materials, it reproduces the realism of antique doors. Special reinforcement technology ensures its safety.

The main pocket can hold approximately 20 business cards as stock. For thick loyalty cards, it can store about 12 cards.


The inner lining of the gusseted pocket is made of smooth suede-like fabric.

It can store a total of about 15 necessary cards. If you need to carry bills, they can be folded into thirds.
