"waji Co., Ltd.," founded in January 2016, is a professional manufacturing group comprising experienced craftsmen and young designers. It all started when Hiroki Kanno, the representative who loves "antique doors," met Rui Sekine, who came from a "glass processing factory."

Under the brand concept of havito's "unexpected craftsmanship," Kanno and Sekine established the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had long wanted to bring to life.

The series features everyday items designed as "portable art objects."

Combining several types of parts to express the realism of an antique door.

"glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art."
As the name suggests, the concept is to incorporate the beauty of glass shining in the light and artistic designs into daily life.
This brand gave birth to a genuine leather system planner cover with a design reminiscent of antique European doors. The stained glass window, as if adorning a door, adds color and narrative to everyday life.

The number of parts and work processes is more than double compared to similar products. The sewing machine was even modified just to create this series. Sewing glass and leather requires advanced techniques, and only a limited number of waji's artisans can complete the finish.

The leather used is vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned cowhide.

The artisans carefully apply wax, also used for saddlery, one by one. The unevenness from manual work and the natural characteristics of the leather (such as blood vessels, wrinkles, and moles) are attractive, giving it a unique firmness. Of course, this leather also ages beautifully.

The glass is jointly developed with "Tomi Glass," a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is lightweight and durable reinforced glass, and its development took two years. The glass used undergoes special processing at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring safety and strength.
