"Surrounded by green and clear streams, you hear the nostalgic 'Gatchan Gatchan' sound of the loom..." Kobo Oriza, a workshop that creates original stoles and scarves using traditional looms, is located deep in the mountains of Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, facing the Seto Inland Sea, in a lush green area blessed with nature where time flows slowly.

Kobo Oriza's old-fashioned looms are an innovation that spins and creates comfortable fashion products popular with men and women of all ages.

Among them is the "Yuragi-ori" (waving weave) scarf, with its unique soft wavy design. This weave won the "Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award" at the 3rd Monozukuri Nippon Grand Award.

Items created using traditional techniques blend in with modern fashion. Just as threads intertwine, people and tradition intertwine... The products created by Kobo Oriza seem to be a bridge connecting the present and the past.

Its distinguishing feature is the bold gradation created by the way the two-color weft threads are passed through.

At first glance, the fabric may appear coarse yet delicate.
However, rest assured. This fabric employs a technique called "Mojiri-ori" (leno weave), where the warp threads firmly tighten the weft threads during weaving. This creates a durable weave that prevents eye slipping even with a coarse mesh.

This results in a finish that is both delicate in appearance and durable, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful "yoroke" (staggered) pattern for a long time without it losing its shape.

Its small size allows for vivid colors, creating a sophisticated look.

This scarf is woven on a "Toyota Y-type" loom manufactured approximately 110 years ago.
Instead of using the loom as is, it has been modified in various parts and rebuilt into a "new loom" that weaves with the original "Tate Yoroke Mojiri-ori" technique.

・Fibers may adhere to clothing.

＜Care Instructions＞
・Hand wash gently and separately with a neutral detergent in cold or lukewarm water. Please refrain from using the washing machine's hand-wash mode.
・After hand washing, place it in a laundry net and dehydrate for 20-30 seconds. After dehydration, reshape and air dry in the shade.
・Do not use optical brighteners, chlorine bleach, or tumble dry.
