After graduating from a technical high school, Tomoaki Hirano, the representative of "Lano", worked for a shipbuilding company for about eight years as a lathe operator, acquiring knowledge and skills in metal processing, before moving to the fashion industry. He taught himself engraving techniques and gained experience as an accessory designer together with Mio Hirano, before starting his own brand "Lano" in 2008.

Tomoaki Hirano may have a seemingly unusual career as an accessory designer, but the solid metalworking techniques he developed during his time at the shipyard are incorporated into every aspect of his work. In particular, his handmade watches combine delicate and beautiful designs like jewelry with high processing precision and water resistance for everyday use.
