Garage, a Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop, started from a passion for crafting, for clothes, and for creating things from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband and wife team, handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing production is the bias-cut (diagonal cut) double gauze fabric. Typically, fabric for clothing is used along the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates elasticity in both directions.

Simple designs are infused with ingenious details that fully leverage the unique properties and texture of double gauze.

This room dress features Garage's original design. The block check pattern, expressed with fluffy, raw edges, creates a gentle impression.
The natural, washed-out wrinkled texture, characteristic of Garage, also creates a relaxed atmosphere.

The sleeves are intentionally long, and look cute even when pushed up. With a moderate length, you can enjoy coordinating it at home by pairing it with leggings or long room socks.

Gauze is an excellent fabric with moderate breathability and warmth, making it suitable for all seasons. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the gentlest fabrics on the skin.

A distinctive feature of Garage's gauze clothing is its use of single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

While bias cutting is not very fabric-efficient, it creates excellent elasticity in both length and width, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape.

Choose from a rich variety of colors. It's also recommended to select colors according to the season, such as pastels for spring and earth tones for autumn.
