Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with the passion of its founders who love creating things, love clothes, and love making things from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, the husband-and-wife team, handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing is the bias cut (diagonal cut) of the double gauze fabric. Normally, fabric for clothing is used along the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates elasticity in both directions.

Simple designs are thoughtfully crafted to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

Gauze is an excellent fabric that can be worn all year round, offering moderate breathability and warmth. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.

A distinctive feature of Garage's gauze clothing is that it uses single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

While a bias cut is not fabric-efficient, it creates excellent elasticity both horizontally and vertically, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.

You can choose from a wide range of colors. We recommend selecting colors according to the season, such as pastels for spring and earth tones for autumn.
