The brand is produced by Saifuku, a specialized knit manufacturer founded in 1963 in Gosen City, Niigata Prefecture. Blessed with an abundance of high-quality water, Gosen has thrived as a hub for silk textiles since the mid-Edo period and developed into a major cluster for the knit industry after the war. By branding with their company name, they continue to refine their knitting techniques and ideas, drawing on the know-how passed down through the region.

“mino” (a brand by Saifuku) is a poncho series inspired by the traditional "mino" (straw rain cape), which has been used as a rain and cold-weather garment in snowy regions since ancient times. From "wearable ponchos"—square pieces of knit with a vertical slit—to various other knit items, they offer pieces that fit seamlessly into modern life.
