"Tezomeya" is a dyeing studio in Kyoto that pursues dyeing with natural dyes. They mainly produce T-shirts and other items dyed with traditional Japanese natural dyes such as madder, pomegranate, cornflower, and gallnut.

The main products, hand-dyed T-shirts, are all original, from the materials to the detailed designs, patterns and sewing processes.

The yarn is made from organic cotton called "Fox Fiber," which is highly compatible with natural dyes. The fabric is specially made to order using a rare "hanging knitting machine" that can knit softly without applying tension to the yarn, creating a "hanging jersey" fabric that does not wear out easily even with long use.

This color is "Haizakurairo (gray cherry blossom)."
The dye used is betel nut.

It's a nude but not too glossy beige pink with a gentle greyish feel.

This color name comes from the seed of the modern color dye betel nut (the seeds contain a large amount of tannin, and in Malaysia, where it is native, there is a custom of mixing the unripe seeds with lime and cloves, wrapping them in betel leaves, and chewing the mixture).
This dye has been used since the Nara period and was primarily used for dyeing fabric black, but hand dyers now use it to dye fabric this color.

Fox fiber is hardly ever degreased or bleached, and contains a lot of natural impurities such as wax. However, when dyed with natural dyes, the more impurities the cotton has, the deeper and darker the dye will be.
