Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with a passion for craftsmanship, fashion, and creating things from scratch. The husband and wife duo, Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, consistently handle everything from design, patterns, and sewing to dyeing.

This original sleeveless shirt from Garage features fluffy gauze tape on the chest.
The natural wrinkled texture, as if freshly laundered, is unique to Garage and creates a relaxed look.

While boasting an unassuming simplicity, the gentle atmosphere of the gauze material combined with a touch of cuteness creates an item with a wonderful aura.

Made from 100% cotton gauze fabric, a natural material known for its excellent absorbency and lightness. Its pleasant feel against the skin and the fact that it gets softer and more comfortable with each wash are also appealing features.

As a way to avoid wasting these scraps, they are incorporated into the neckline and ruffle designs.

Increased elasticity! About bias-cut gauze

Gauze is an excellent fabric that can be worn all year round, offering moderate breathability and warmth. It has been used for baby clothes for generations and is one of the softest fabrics against the skin.

A distinctive feature of Garage's gauze clothing is that it uses single-layer gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

Although bias cuts are not efficient in terms of fabric usage, they create excellent elasticity both vertically and horizontally, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
