Established in January 2016, waji Inc. is a professional manufacturing group that brings together veteran craftsmen and young designers. The company got started when representative Hiroki Kanno, who loves antique doors, and Rui Sekine, who used to work at a glass processing factory, met.

Based on the havito brand concept of "unexpected manufacturing," Kanno and Sekine established the "glart" series, which combines real glass and leather - something they had always wanted to create.

The collection includes items that are easy to use on a daily basis and can be considered "portable artistic objects."

Glart is a coined word that combines glass and art.
As the name suggests, the concept is to incorporate the beauty of glass shining in the light and artistic designs into everyday life.
This brand has created a genuine leather system organizer cover with a design reminiscent of an antique European door. The small stained glass window that resembles a door adds color and a story to your everyday life.

The number of parts and the work involved are more than double that of similar products. Even the sewing machine was modified just to make this series. Sewing glass and leather together requires advanced skills, and only Waji's limited number of craftsmen can complete the process.

The leather used is vegetable tanned and chrome tanned cowhide.

Each piece is carefully finished by artisans who apply wax, the same wax used in horse tack. The unevenness caused by the handwork and the natural appearance of leather (blood lines, wrinkles, moles, etc.) are attractive and give the leather a unique firmness. Of course, it is also a leather that you can enjoy as it ages.

The glass was developed in collaboration with Tomi Glass, a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is a lightweight yet durable tempered glass that took two years to develop. The glass used is specially processed at a factory that processes car headlights, etc., to ensure safety and strength.
