Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop garage was started by a couple who loved making things, loved clothes, and loved creating things from scratch with their own hands. The husband and wife team, Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, are consistently involved in everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias gives it vertical and horizontal elasticity.

Simple designs are infused with ingenuity that fully utilizes the characteristics and texture of double gauze.
