garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started because of their love for crafting, fashion, and creating things from scratch. Tatsuya Nakanishi and his wife Yoko handle everything from design, pattern making, and sewing to dyeing.

One of the distinctive features of garage's clothing is the use of double gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally). Typically, clothing fabric is used in alignment with the warp and weft of the weave, but cutting on the bias gives it elasticity in both directions. Simple in design, the clothes are carefully crafted to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.
