Tomoaki Hirano and Mio Hirano, who run the accessory brand "Lano," use mainly natural stones and brass to carefully handcraft each and every elegant and warm accessory.

After graduating from technical high school, Tomoaki Hirano, the representative of "Lano", worked for a shipbuilding company for about eight years as a lathe operator, acquiring knowledge and skills in metal processing, before moving into the fashion industry. He taught himself metal engraving techniques and gained experience as an accessory designer together with Mio Hirano, before starting his own brand, "Lano", in 2008.

Hirano Tomoaki may have a seemingly unusual background as an accessory designer, but the solid metalworking techniques he developed during his time at a shipyard are incorporated into every aspect of his work. In particular, his handmade watches combine delicate, beautiful designs like jewelry with high processing precision that ensures water resistance for everyday use.
