Garage, a Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop, started with the idea of "I love making things, I love clothes, and I love creating something from scratch with my own hands." The husband and wife team, Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, consistently handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing is the use of double gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally). Usually, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but cutting it on the bias creates stretch both horizontally and vertically.

Amidst the simple designs, ingenuity is incorporated to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

From Garage, which develops original clothing using gauze material, comes a blouse made from single gauze.

It features a clean, feminine silhouette and an appropriate length, so it can be worn tucked into bottoms or skirts. Since the fabric is sheer, you can enjoy a varied look by layering it with a camisole or tank top underneath.

It pairs well with casual bottoms, and looks lovely when combined with linen pants or skirts, or wrapped with a plant-dyed stole. You can enjoy the natural texture by combining it with various items.

Gauze is an excellent fabric with appropriate breathability and heat retention, making it suitable for all seasons. It has been used for baby clothes for a long time and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.

Garage's gauze clothing is characterized by the use of single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally). Although cutting on the bias is not efficient in terms of fabric usage, it creates excellent stretch in both vertical and horizontal directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body over time.

You can choose from 32 colors. We recommend choosing according to the season, such as pastel shades for spring and earth tones for autumn. (Click on the color chart to enlarge)

This product is generally made to order, and may take approximately 3 weeks to 2 months depending on the order status. (If it takes longer than that, we will inform you of the new delivery date.)

Garage's gauze clothing is garment-dyed (dyed after sewing) piece by piece. Therefore, the dye color may vary slightly for individual products.
