"Crafting is my passion, clothes are my passion, and I love creating things from scratch." With these feelings in mind, Kyoto's gauze clothing workshop, garage, began its journey. From design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing, husband and wife Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi handle every step of the process.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Usually, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates stretchiness in both directions.

Within simple designs, innovations that fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze are incorporated.

"We do as much as we can with our own hands"—garage's gauze clothes, overflowing with such passion for craftsmanship, bring a gentle and peaceful feeling to those who wear them.

This long cardigan features the lightness unique to gauze fabric and a soft, fluffy texture.

The natural wrinkled look, as if freshly washed, is a distinctive feature of garage's products. It brings out the soft texture of "cotton" itself.

Side/Back


Can be worn casually with buttons open.

This piece can be worn casually, making the most of its familiar fabric texture. It is suitable for both men and women.

It can be worn all year round, offering breathability in spring and warmth in autumn. It is also recommended for protection against air conditioning in summer.

The neckline is neat.

Wooden buttons. The buttonholes are raw-edged, made from the same material, giving them a distinctive presence.

It is slightly sheer.

Gauze material is soft and fluffy to the touch, making it recommended for those with sensitive skin. It also features high breathability and excellent moisture absorption.

garage's gauze clothing is characterized by the use of single gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally).

While using fabric on the bias is not efficient, it creates excellent stretch in both horizontal and vertical directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
