Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop garage started with a love for crafting, fashion, and creating things from scratch. Tatsuya Nakanishi and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband-and-wife team, handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric cut on the bias. While it is generally common to use fabric along the warp and weft, cutting on the bias creates elasticity in both directions. This allows them to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze within simple designs.

This is a simple camisole made from double-layered double gauze. It features fluffy gauze tape on the chest, a unique design from garage.

The comfortable double gauze material is soft and gentle to wear, making it recommended for those with sensitive skin.
Its natural wrinkling creates a natural and soft texture.

Double gauze is an excellent fabric with moderate breathability and heat retention, making it suitable for all seasons. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics on the skin.

A distinctive feature of garage's gauze clothing is the use of double gauze fabric cut on the bias (diagonally). Although cutting on the bias is not as fabric-efficient, it creates excellent elasticity in both directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
