Koji Shinohara, a pioneer of Japanese hand-made watches and a watchmaker who works on the watch brand KS. The "Lost Future" series, which incorporates the world view of steampunk into watches and makes the watch itself look like a machine that is about to start moving, and the "Wadokei" series, which goes well with Japanese clothing as well as everyday use. Based on the concept of "fusion of concepts to be done", a wide variety of handmade watches are produced.

Koji Shinohara was inspired to start producing handmade watches when he met at a small watch factory in Hong Kong. When I was working for a trading company after graduating from university, I went on a business trip to Hong Kong, where I happened to be in charge, and visited a watch assembly factory to sell parts. There, I saw five or six people diligently assembling clocks in a small room. Mr. Shinohara, who thought that making a wristwatch required a large-scale, specialized facility, said that the moment he saw the scene, he felt that wristwatch making was something that he could do himself.

Mr. Shinohara, who had always been a big fan of wristwatches, buying watches every time he traveled overseas, devoted himself to making watches for half a year after meeting him in Hong Kong. At the age of 29, he set up a small watch studio in Kichijoji, Tokyo, and produced original watches using various materials such as paper, brass, and silver. Gradually, he began to attract the attention of media such as magazines and television, and young people aspiring to become watchmakers and apprentices began to visit Mr. Shinohara.

In 1997, JHA (Japan Handcraft-Watch Association) was established to support artists' activities such as learning watchmaking techniques and supplying parts. Even now, while producing his own works, he is also working hard to nurture the next generation. Young people who aspire to become watchmakers love him as a master, and he is active in the development of the world of handcrafted watches.

"Houou" is now available from the handmade watch brand KS. This is an elegant and old-fashioned wristwatch made with the design theme of Japanese clocks made in Japan, mainly in the Edo period.

A dial design that starts at 12 o'clock with child, ox, tiger, etc. and circles with a boar. The dial is simple yet subdued, and the hour hand rotates around a disk shaped like a flower in the center.

This watch has a dignified style that is reminiscent of the world of historical movies. It features a delicate and detailed pattern that makes you enraptured just by looking at it. The unique undulating floral pattern is carved from corner to corner on the front, sides, and back.

The case is made of brass. The deep gold color makes the antique atmosphere stand out even more.
Connect the included chain to create a pocket watch. If you put it on the attached pedestal, it will be a table clock. It is a 2-way type that can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors.

This watch is classy and special. A more delicate carved pattern appears on all sides. A dignified style that would make you believe it was owned by a military commander in the Sengoku period. It is an item that you want to match with kimono as a spicy accent.

The rugged and thick chain is well-balanced with this watch! Hang it around your neck, tie it to your belt ring, or attach it to your bag. It is an adjuster type chain whose length can be adjusted each time.
