For those who want to try using a Goshuincho but think it might be difficult...
Here's a simple guide on how to use it!

☆What is a Goshuincho??☆
It's a notebook for collecting Goshuin (stamps/calligraphy) from temples and shrines.
They are given as proof of worship,
and each temple and shrine has its own unique patterns and characters.

☆Can both sides be used?☆
Since both sides are blank, you can certainly get Goshuin on both sides,
but many people seem to only use one side
to avoid the ink bleeding through to the other side.
If you want to keep it in pristine condition,
it might be better not to use both sides.

☆Where can I get a Goshuincho? How much does a Goshuin cost? ☆
When you want to get a Goshuin, go to the "Shamusho" or "Jimusho"
(office) where you buy amulets, ema, omikuji, etc., and ask for one to be written.
A Goshuin usually costs around 300 yen,
but depending on the shrine or temple, or for limited edition Goshuin,
it can sometimes be 500 yen.

☆What if I forget my Goshuincho...??☆
Some shrines and temples
have pre-written Goshuin or blank paper available, so
you can just paste what you receive into your Goshuincho later.

☆Write your 'name or address' on the back☆
Sometimes, you might leave your Goshuincho at the Shamusho during your visit to have it written,
and pick it up later.
To avoid confusing it with others' or losing it,
it's a good idea to write your address or name on the back.
