Graphzero is an artisan denim brand based in Kojima, Kurashiki, known as the leading jeans-producing city in Japan.

Graphzero has just launched a new 15oz selvedge denim.

This "raw denim" is woven on an old-fashioned power loom and has not been treated to prevent shrinkage, twist or singeing, giving it a vintage look.

The warp threads of the denim fabric are dyed all the way to the core, a process called "Kasezome" (dyed threads), and the weft threads are unbleached.

This is a special denim fabric that can only be found at graphzero, with a rough texture created by slub yarns both vertically and horizontally. It also has a nice, crunchy, hand-woven feel.

Regular jeans are made using "rope dyed" denim fabric, which means that the thread is not dyed all the way to the core, and the more you wear them, the more the white parts of the thread become visible.

Yarn dyeing involves dyeing all the way to the core of the thread, so unlike rope-dyed denim fabric, the overall color changes to a lighter shade.

The more you wear them, the more you can enjoy the changes that occur unique to skein dyeing, which is different from rope dyeing.

The hidden bar stoppers, hidden rivets, and sewing thread all up to the stitching are made of cotton thread, which gives the fabric a better appearance.

Using cotton thread makes it less strong, but it blends in with denim and you can enjoy the changes that occur over time.
