Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop garage (pronounced "garage") started out of a love for craftsmanship, clothing, and the joy of creating something from scratch with their own hands. Husband and wife team Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of double-gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, fabric for clothing is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates elasticity in both directions. This allows for simple designs that fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.

"Do as much as possible with our own hands"—this passion for craftsmanship is evident in garage's gauze clothing, which makes wearers feel gentle and calm.

This is a simple camisole made from two layers of double gauze.

The double gauze material is soft to the touch and comfortable to wear, making it recommended for those with sensitive skin.

Double gauze has excellent breathability and heat retention, making it a superior fabric that can be worn all year round. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.

A characteristic of garage's gauze clothing is that this double gauze fabric is cut on the bias (diagonally). Although cutting on the bias is not efficient for fabric, it creates excellent elasticity in both directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the wearer's body shape over time.
