garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with the desire to create things, love clothes, and build something from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi are a husband and wife team who handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Normally, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates elasticity in both the vertical and horizontal directions.

Simple designs incorporate ingenious ways to fully utilize the characteristics and texture of double gauze.
