"RE.ACT LEATHER WORKS" is a brand helmed by designer Mitsutoshi Nakayama. Rather than focusing on a specific brand theme, the label offers a wide range of free-spirited, natural leather products—including wallets, small leather goods, and bags—designed to complement the changing moods and situations of everyday life.
Mitsutoshi Nakayama established "RE.ACT LEATHER WORKS" after gaining experience in planning and sales for apparel brands. The name "RE.ACT" embodies the idea of "reacting to stimuli," reflecting his desire to incorporate the inspiration he draws from travel, vintage items like old clothing, and various cultures into his craftsmanship.
"RE.ACT" leather items are made from carefully selected domestic and international materials, such as "Aizome (indigo-dyed) leather," which uses domestically produced vegetable-tanned leather (tanned leather processed to be easily dyed) colored with natural Yamato indigo. Furthermore, the products are crafted daily in a domestic Japanese factory established in 1974, utilizing manufacturing methods, expertise, and a dedication to quality that have been cultivated since its founding, ensuring items that can be enjoyed for years to come.
| A spectacle case dyed with chemical-free natural Yamato indigo that brings a sense of sophisticated maturity. |
A simple design with stripped-back ornamentation that highlights the quality of the leather.
Domestically produced vegetable-tanned leather is immersed in Yamato indigo dye.
The Paisley and Flower designs are then embossed onto the surface.
