Kurashiki/Kojima artisan denim brand graphzero

Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, is the birthplace of Japanese-made jeans and one of the world's leading jeans production areas.
Established in the spring of 2004 in this region, graphzero is an up-and-coming denim brand gaining attention for its original jeans featuring hand-dying and fading processes that are not cost-effective for larger companies.

Now, graphzero has released a new dress.

This dress features a stand-up collar and fabric paneling as a design accent.

The loose silhouette gives it a subtle elegance.

It can be worn as a dress on its own, or as a coat-like outer layer, like an overshirt.

The fabric used is an original 8oz embroidered denim.

This supple and comfortable denim is adorned with a floral and fireworks pattern.

"Waracut embroidery" is a unique technique developed by Miki Shisyu Kougei Co., Ltd., an embroidery processing manufacturer in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Unlike regular embroidery where patterns are sewn with thread, this "threadless embroidery" technique uses a special blade to cut only the warp threads of the fabric one by one into the shape of a pattern, making the design stand out.

After the Waracut embroidery, a washing process is applied, causing only the cut warp threads to shrink, making the pattern appear three-dimensional.
