Waji Inc., founded in January 2016, is a team of professional artisans, from seasoned craftsmen to young designers. The company got its start when Yuki Kanno, CEO and a lover of "antique doors," met Rui Sekine, who came from a "glass processing factory."

Under the brand concept of havito's "surprise manufacturing," Kanno and Sekine established the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had always wanted to create.

The series offers items that are easy for daily use as "portable art objects."

There's an opening/closing button around the doorknob. (The doorknob is decorative. When opening/closing, please place your finger on the button part.)

The "glart" series fuses stained-glass-style tempered glass with leather. "glart" is a portmanteau of "glass" and "art."

The number of parts and production steps are double that of a normal wallet, and the sewing machine was even modified specifically to produce this product. Sewing glass and leather together requires advanced techniques, and only a limited number of Waji's artisans can achieve this.

The leather used is cowhide nubuck, tanned with vegetable tannins and chrome.

The artisans carefully apply wax, which is also used for equestrian equipment, one by one. The unevenness from the manual work and the natural characteristics of the leather (such as blood vessels, wrinkles, and moles) are attractive and give it a unique firmness. Of course, this leather also ages beautifully.

The glass was co-developed with Tomi Glass, a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is lightweight and durable tempered glass, and its development took two years. The glass used undergoes special processing at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring its strength.

By combining several types of core materials, the realism of antique doors is expressed. Special tempering technology ensures safety.

The main pocket can hold approximately 20 business cards as a stock. If you have thick point cards, it can hold approximately 12.


The inner lining of the gusseted pocket is a smooth, suede-like fabric.
