Shogado is a Kyoto-based Japanese stationery manufacturer that produces Japanese books such as goshuincho (stamp books), pencil cases, origami paper, etc. While inheriting the traditional techniques of Kyo-Yuzen, they offer a wide variety of Japanese stationery that reconstructs traditional patterns with modern color schemes and designs.
All of Shogado's Japanese stationery is made in Japan, using Yuzen washi paper that has been carefully dyed by hand. The washi paper is sourced from Echizen (Fukui Prefecture) and other washi-producing areas in Japan. Yuzen washi paper is gorgeously dyed using multiple dyeing stencils and layered with colors by Kyoto artisans who have been involved with the company since it was founded in 1964, giving it a texture, shine, and presence that cannot be expressed with ordinary printing.
Shogado's Japanese stationery is designed to convey the Japanese aesthetic and be accepted not only in Japan but also overseas. With a wide range of colors from calm to vibrant, you're sure to find a design that suits your taste.
The cover, made of gold paper, shines golden and the main text paper is also gold, making this a luxurious stamp book perfect for collecting precious goshuin. |

It will take a little time for the seal to dry, but you can use it just like a regular goshuincho.

A accordion-style stamp book made with gold paper from Shogado, a long-established Kyoto stationery manufacturer.
It has an accordion shape, so you can use it either side.
This "large size" is a size larger than the standard size. It is recommended as it is easy to paste written red seals.
The main text is made of premium Japanese paper called "Kinsenshi". Special fibers are layered on a gold base, giving it an elegant look where the gold color can be seen through the thin paper. Two sheets of this Japanese paper are put together in an accordion shape, so it is less likely to bleed through to the other side. When spread out, it looks like a gold folding screen, making the goshuin stamps you have collected stand out even more.

The heavy cover has a luxurious feel. It is recommended for those who like collecting goshuin stamps, and as a gift for parents or special people.
These carefully made, Kyoto items are perfect for yourself, and also make great souvenirs for people from overseas. They are also reasonably priced, making them a great gift for friends and acquaintances. They are also recommended as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, Christmas, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Respect for the Aged Day, school entrance and retirement celebrations, and 60th birthday celebrations.
