AND WOOL is a brand that offers knitted items that will make your everyday life a little more fun, from its atelier surrounded by tea fields in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Keiichi Muramatsu, director of "AND WOOL", graduated from the Knit Design Department of Bunka Fashion College and gained experience at a luxury Italian yarn manufacturer and fashion brand. In 2011, he moved his base of operations to Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and started "AND WOOL" in 2016. Aiming to create a better fashion culture, he is sharing the techniques and knowledge he has cultivated with many people and pursuing the possibilities of knitwear and handicrafts.

The manufacturing of "AND WOOL" begins with Muramatsu, a knitting professional, carefully selecting the yarn material and adjusting the yarn with yarn dealers both in Japan and overseas. The knitting is done using a traditional machine called a "hand knitting machine", and all processes up to the finishing work are done by hand.

Unlike those made by automated machines, knitted items made by hand knitting machines can be knitted while the tension of the yarn and the state of the knitted fabric can be checked by human eyes and hands, so they contain plenty of air and are characterized by being extremely light and soft.

A large-sized stole made from 100% soft, fluffy yak wool. It takes advantage of the yak material while being designed not to compromise its texture or feel.

It is somewhat sheer, but the knitting method allows air to enter, making it warm despite its thinness.

Yak hair is a classic warm material. It is just as warm as cashmere.


They are made using the traditional method of knitting by hand using a knitting machine. The tension of the yarn and the tension of the knitted fabric are checked by hand and eye while they are knitted gently, resulting in a very light and soft shawl.

The yak hair used in this product was given to us by nomads in Bayankhongor, located in the central and southern part of Mongolia, about 650 km from the capital, Ulaanbaatar.

We are particular about the way the raw wool of these yaks is sheared. Without using clippers or scissors, we take our time to brush each yak one by one to avoid damaging the fibers, and harvest the wool in the best condition.

Yaks live in cold regions, and their long, thick hair helps keep out the snow, while their abundant down has a glossy, soft texture, a slimy feel, elasticity, and high heat retention, making them one of the finest natural fibers. Yaks are considered a high-quality animal hair on par with cashmere, and their rare fine, soft hair has excellent heat retention and is soft to the touch.

It is soft and thin, so if you wear it in a single layer, it will fall smoothly and give a clean impression.

The Milano roll creates volume around the face, making it look smaller.

Precautions when purchasing and using

・If an item is out of stock, it may take 2-3 weeks to ship. If we have to wait longer than that, we will inform you of the delivery date. If you have any questions about the stock status or arrival time, please feel free to contact us.

・During gift-giving seasons such as Christmas, Valentine's Day, and White Day, production may take more than a month. If you are considering purchasing as a gift, please check the delivery date and place your order as soon as possible.

<Handling Precautions>
・Please be careful not to catch the watch on protruding objects such as earrings, necklaces, or zippers.

・Please note that yak fibers may easily stick to your clothes when you wear this product.

<Washing precautions>
- You can hand wash it at home, but we recommend having it dry cleaned at a dry cleaners to ensure it lasts a long time.

・It will shrink slightly when washed.

・When washing , use a neutral detergent and wash by hand (press wash) or with the dry cleaning function of the washing machine . If using a washing machine , be sure to use a laundry net and wash the item separately .

- After lightly dehydrating, dry in the shade.

Do not leave the product submerged in water or wet for long periods of time.

- Do not apply the iron directly to the garment. Instead, lift it slightly and apply steam.

- Do not use a dryer or bleach.
