"Jidai" is a brand and project that takes unused materials and materials for prototypes, adds new designs and ideas to increase their value (i.e. upcycles), and turns them into works of art and products.

"Jidai" is run by waji, a manufacturing group that produces leather wallets and small leather goods. Waji interprets one of the goals set out in the "SDGs" (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015, "Responsible Consumption and Production," in their own way, and strives to create products that customers truly want.



This series using tennis ball fabric makes use of prototype tennis ball fabric that had been lying dormant in the warehouse of Hiraku Spinning, a fabric manufacturer in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
Taking advantage of the vivid coloring and sufficiently strong fabric, we recycle them into unique items.

It is made from upcycled tennis ball fabric provided by a fabric manufacturer in Sakai City.
Although the fabric is thick and sturdy, the surface is soft and has a unique firmness and elasticity. The appeal of this material lies in its presence when held and its unique texture.

The felt material is made from compressed polyester and nylon, making it resistant to wear and tear and highly durable.
Taking advantage of these characteristics, it has been reborn as an item for everyday use.

The same genuine leather is used for the zipper pull.

The shoulder straps, pull handles, and brand tag are made from waji's original tannin-tanned cowhide leather.
It is 3mm thick and sturdy enough to withstand prolonged use.
