From an atelier surrounded by tea plantations in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, we are a brand that proposes knitted and knitted items that make everyday life feel a little more fun, with a focus on knitting that allows you to create an infinite number of things with just a single thread and your imagination. Keiichi Muramatsu, the director of AND WOOL, graduated from Bunka Fashion College's knit design department and gained experience working at a luxury yarn manufacturer and fashion brand in Italy, before moving his base of operations to Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 2011. Started “AND WOOL” in 2016. Aiming to create a better fashion culture, she shares the techniques and knowledge she has cultivated over the years with many people, and pursues the possibilities of knitwear and handwork.

The manufacturing process for ``AND WOOL'' begins with Mr. Muramatsu, a knitting professional, carefully examining the yarn material and coordinating the yarn with yarn shops in Japan and overseas. The knitting is done using an old-fashioned machine called a "hand knitting machine", and all processes, including finishing, are done by hand.

Unlike those produced by automated machines, knitted items produced by hand knitting machines can be knitted while checking the tension of the threads and the condition of the knitted fabric with the human eye and hands, so they contain plenty of air. It is characterized by an extremely light and soft product.

In addition to running the brand, she is also engaged in activities to nurture future weavers. We consistently design not only the selection of yarn and weaving method, but also the production process and efficiency, and we collaborate with home workers and people who work at employment support offices to do some of the work. Efforts are also being made to create employment and train weavers.
