Shogado is a Japanese stationery manufacturer based in Kyoto that produces traditional Japanese books such as Goshuincho (stamp books), pencil cases, and origami. While preserving the traditional techniques of Kyo-Yuzen, they offer a wide variety of Japanese stationery that reinterprets traditional patterns with modern color schemes and designs.
All of Shogado's Japanese stationery is domestically produced and uses Yuzen washi paper carefully dyed by hand. The washi paper material comes from Japanese washi producing regions such as Echizen (Fukui Prefecture). Using multiple dyeing stencils, colors are layered by Kyoto artisans who have been involved with the company since its founding in 1964, creating Yuzen washi paper with a texture, luster, and presence that cannot be achieved with ordinary printing.
Shogado's Japanese stationery pursues designs that are widely accepted not only in Japan but also overseas, inheriting Japanese aesthetics. With a wide range of colors from subdued to vibrant, you are sure to find a design that suits your taste.

"Edo Zukushi" is an original design Goshuincho created by Shogado, a long-established Japanese stationery manufacturer in Kyoto.
Motifs include Tokyo Tower, Kaminarimon, and Edo sushi, depicting Tokyo's scenery and culture from Edo to the present day, creating a design that is both somewhat nostalgic and fresh.
Yuzen washi paper is used for the front cover and Tant paper for the back cover. The hand-dyed Yuzen creates a deep, tasteful color.
Kyo-Yuzen paper, handcrafted piece by piece by Kyoto artisans, is made using a technique similar to silk screen printing. For each design, as many plates (han) are prepared as there are colors, and pigments are spread with a spatula, one color and one plate at a time.
Yuzen paper made by hand-dyeing in this way has a texture, luster, and depth that cannot be found in machine printing. In addition, since pigments are used, it is less likely to fade.
Available in three types: "Hana" (Flower), "Iki" (Chic), and "Tsuya" (Gloss), which express ancient motifs with light color schemes that blend into modern life. Each offers a different expression, making it a playful book characteristic of Shogado.

It's a large size, so it has a bit of extra room.

Also perfect as a gift for someone special.
Being accordion-style, it can be used on both sides. It is a large size, slightly bigger than a typical Goshuincho, making it easy to attach pre-written Goshuin stamps.
The main paper used is "Hosho paper," which is also used for Shinto prayers and envelopes. Two sheets of pure white and beautiful Japanese paper are pasted together in an accordion style, making it difficult for ink to bleed through to the back, thus preserving Goshuin stamps beautifully.
It is also recommended to attach tickets and postcards from temple and shrine visits alongside your Goshuin, or to compile your travel memories. Beyond being a Goshuincho, it can be freely used as a collage book, memory journal, illustration book, photo collection, and more.
These carefully crafted Made-in-Kyoto items are perfect for yourself, and also make delightful souvenirs for international visitors. Furthermore, at a price that won't make recipients feel overly obliged, they are great for small gifts for acquaintances and friends. They are also recommended as presents for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, Christmas, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Respect for the Aged Day, entrance ceremonies, retirement, and 60th birthday celebrations.
