Garage, a Kyoto-based gauze clothing workshop, started with the idea of loving craftsmanship, loving clothes, and loving to create things from scratch. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband and wife team, handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing production is the use of double gauze fabric on the bias (diagonally). Typically, clothing fabric is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but using it on the bias creates stretchability in both directions.

The simple designs are infused with ingenuity that fully utilizes the unique properties and texture of double gauze.

Gauze is an excellent fabric that can be worn all year round, with appropriate breathability and heat retention. It has been used for baby clothes since ancient times and is one of the softest fabrics to the touch.
