"Waji Co., Ltd.", established in January 2016, is a professional manufacturing group made up of experienced artisans and young designers. It all started when Hiroki Kanno, the CEO who loves "antique doors," met Rui Sekine, who came from a "glass processing plant."

Under havito's brand concept of "making unexpected products," Mr. Kanno and Mr. Sekine established the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had long wanted to realize.

The series features items that are easy to use in daily life as "portable art objects."

The "glart" series is a fusion of stained glass-style tempered glass and genuine leather. "glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art."

The number of parts and work processes required are more than double compared to similar products. The sewing machine was even modified specifically for manufacturing this series. Stitching glass and leather together requires advanced techniques, and only a limited number of waji's artisans can complete the process.

The leather used is cowhide tanned with vegetable tannin and chrome.

Waxes used for equestrian equipment are carefully hand-applied by artisans to finish the product. The charm lies in the handcrafted unevenness and the natural characteristics unique to leather (blood vessels, wrinkles, moles, etc.), giving it a distinctive firmness. Of course, the leather also ages beautifully over time.

The glass was jointly developed with Tomi Glass, a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is lightweight and durable tempered glass, and its development took two years. The glass used undergoes special processing at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring safety and strength.
