Waji Inc. was founded in January 2016 as a group of professional artisans, from veteran craftsmen to young designers. It began when Yuki Kanno, CEO, who loves "antique doors", met Rui Sekine, who came from a "glass processing factory".

Under the brand concept of havito's "unexpected craftsmanship", Kanno and Sekine established the "glart" series, a fusion of real glass and leather, which they had long wanted to create.

The collection features everyday items that are "portable art objects."

"glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art".
As the name suggests, the concept is to incorporate the beauty of glass shining with light and artistic designs into everyday life.
This brand has created a genuine leather system planner cover with a design reminiscent of European antique doors. The stained glass window, like those on a door, adds color and a story to your daily life.

The number of parts and production steps are more than double compared to similar products. A sewing machine was even modified specifically for this series. Sewing glass and leather together requires advanced techniques, and only a limited number of waji's artisans can achieve this.

The leather used is cowhide nubuck leather, tanned with both vegetable tannins and chrome.

Each piece is carefully finished by artisans who apply wax used in saddlery. The charm lies in the manual unevenness and the natural expressions inherent to leather (blood vessels, wrinkles, moles, etc.), giving it a unique firmness. Of course, this leather also allows you to enjoy its aging.

The glass was co-developed with "Tomi Glass", a long-established glass manufacturer in downtown Tokyo.

It is a lightweight and strong reinforced glass, and its development took two years. The glass used is specially processed at a factory that processes car headlights, ensuring safety and strength.
