Garage, a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, started with the passion for making things, for clothing, and for creating things from scratch with one's own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi, a husband-and-wife team, consistently handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

Garage's gauze clothing, overflowing with their passion for manufacturing—"we do as much as we can with our own hands"—gently and calmly comforts those who wear it.

Fluffy designs that make everyone smile. This is a seven-quarter sleeve T-shirt with a delightful, comfortable gauze texture.

This T-shirt features Garage's original design with fluffy gauze tape on the chest.
The natural wrinkled texture, as if freshly washed, is also a unique characteristic of Garage, creating a relaxed feel.

While maintaining an unpretentious simplicity, the gentle atmosphere of the gauze material combined with a touch of charm creates an item with a wonderful ambiance.

Made from 100% natural cotton gauze fabric, it offers excellent absorbency and lightness. Its pleasant feel against the skin and the fact that it gets softer with each wash are also appealing qualities.

Simple crew neck using double-layered gauze. With a soft and comfortable fit, it is also recommended for those with sensitive skin.

At Garage, we use fabric lavishly with bias cutting, which results in a lot of scraps.
To avoid wasting these scraps, they are used in the design of the neckline and ruffles.

Enhanced stretch! About bias-cut gauze

Gauze is an excellent fabric that offers both adequate breathability and heat retention, making it suitable for all seasons. It has long been used for baby clothes and is one of the softest fabrics against the skin.

A distinctive feature of Garage's gauze clothing is that this single gauze fabric is cut on the bias.

While bias cutting is not efficient in terms of fabric use, it creates excellent stretch in both vertical and horizontal directions, allowing the garment to gradually conform to the body shape as it is worn.
