Garage is a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto that was started with a love of crafting, a love of clothes, and a love of making things from scratch. The husband and wife team of Nakanishi Tatsuya and Yoko are in charge of everything from design, pattern making, sewing, and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of Garage's clothing is the bias use of double gauze fabric. Usually, clothing fabric is woven in the vertical and horizontal directions, but bias use creates stretchability in both directions. The simple design is packed with ingenuity that makes full use of the characteristics and texture of double gauze.
