garage is a gauze clothing workshop in Kyoto, founded by a couple who started it because they love making things, love clothes, and love creating things from scratch with their own hands. Tatsuya and Yoko Nakanishi handle everything from design and pattern making to sewing and dyeing.

One of the characteristics of garage's clothing production is the use of bias-cut double gauze fabric. Typically, fabric for clothing is used according to the warp and weft of the weave, but by using a bias cut, elasticity is created in both the vertical and horizontal directions. This ingenuity fully utilizes the characteristics and texture of double gauze within a simple design.

This is a simple sleeveless T-shirt made of two-layered double gauze.

A distinctive feature of garage's gauze clothing is the use of bias-cut (diagonal cut) double gauze fabric. While bias cuts are not always efficient in terms of fabric usage, they create excellent elasticity in both vertical and horizontal directions, allowing the garment to gradually fit the body shape as it's worn.
