"Waji Co., Ltd.", founded in January 2016, is a professional manufacturing group bringing together veteran craftsmen and young designers. It all started when Yuki Sugano, the representative who loves "antique doors," met Rui Sekine, who comes from a "glass processing factory."

Under the brand concept of "surprising craftsmanship" of havito, Sugano-san and Sekine-san have established the "glart" series, which is the fusion of real glass and leather, something they had always wanted to create.

"Glart" is a coined word combining "glass" and "art."
As the name suggests, the concept is to incorporate the beauty of glass that shines when exposed to light, and artistic designs into everyday life.
Born from such a brand is a genuine leather system notebook cover with a design reminiscent of an antique European door. The stained-glass window, as if adorning the door, adds color and story to everyday life.

The number of parts and the number of steps in the process are more than double compared to similar products. The sewing machine was even modified just to make this series of products. Sewing glass and leather together requires advanced skills, and only waji's limited number of craftsmen can finish them.

The leather used is cowhide, tanned with vegetable tannins and chrome.

The wax used for horse tack is carefully applied to each piece by hand by skilled craftsmen. The unevenness of the hand-applied wax and the natural texture of the leather (such as bloodstains, wrinkles, and freckles) are its charm, and it has a unique firmness. Of course, it is a leather that you can enjoy the changes over time.

The glass was jointly developed with "Tomi Glass," a long-established glass manufacturer in the downtown area of Tokyo.

Made of lightweight and durable tempered glass, it took two years to develop. The glass used is specially processed in a factory that processes car headlights and other items, ensuring safety and strength.
